Quase 1 bilhão de pessoas no mundo consideram provável ou muito provável que sejam despejadas de suas terras ou propriedades nos próximos cinco anos. Isto representa quase 1 em cada 5 adultos nos 140 países pesquisados. Dentro de certos países e regiões, e entre certos grupos, a insegurança é ainda maior. No entanto, há muitas pessoas em todo o mundo trabalhando para lidar com a insegurança fundiária e de posse e exigindo uma mudança. Este relatório visa fornecer informações úteis aos formuladores de políticas, pesquisadores e profissionais que trabalham nesta área. O relatório permite que os leitores possam prestar atenção a fatores (sejam eles espaciais, sociais e econômicos) que estão associados à insegurança fundiária e de posse e às razões que a sustentam.
